The First Part Last
This book was a good pick. It was interesting to read about teenage pregnancy from the father's perspective. First Part Last is the only book to do that so far this year-with good reason. All I feel that I learned about him is that he is tired teenager?Is she dead. This book would provide a good book discussion amongst teens. If you keep reading, and all of the, how she got the name Feath. Setting So far most of the story has taken place in the community that all of the people live in.
The teacher does not appear again. I appreciated hearing the same teen pregnancy story we've all heard a dozen times from the perspective of the male, for once. Bobby has to decide if he wants to give his daughter up for adoption, or keep her and take care of her. Please enter the email address that you use to login to TeenInk. Angela Johnson created an interesting novel on the view of teen pregnancy and the challenges most of them go through. The main character Bobby has to raise not only himself, but his daughter Feather, while trying to balance out school, family, relationships, and friends. How can one teenage boy cope with all of this weight on his shoulders and raise a child at the same time? Bobby is your average urban New York teenager, who loves his girlfriend Nia, who has just told him shocking news that will change both of their lives forever.
The committee chair's name was Pam Spencer Holley. He embodied the narrator and the fere quite perfectly - with just the right pauses, or that of his friends or family, onlihe the right intonations. Some part of me wished that certain aspects of the story could have been fleshed out a little more - Bobby's relationship with teachers at school. The only good thing that came out of this book was that it was so harsh and depressing about the realty of sex that maybe people will think twice before doing it.
It is so heart-warming to see this young man become a grown man in the face of doing the right thing. I recommend writing stickies with question and observations when reading the book because of the way it was written? Then, when Feather hook on my stomach like one of those mechanical dolls in the store windows at Christmas. This book was definitely very good and well written.
