Important: This qualification has been extended until 31 July or until such time that the Apprenticeship Frameworks for Supporting Teaching and Learning are withdrawn. This qualification will enable learners to develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in primary, secondary or special schools. It is also a must-have for all those undertaking the Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning Apprenticeship. You should be at least 16 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.

This distance learning course aims to enable learners to understand the roles and responsibilities of those involved in supporting teaching and learning in schools, and provide an opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required to do this effectively and in a self-directed way. This online course also prepares learners to support the Teacher and the delivery of the curriculum within a school, as well as developing skills to help children and young people to develop self-esteem, independence and skills for learning. It seeks to further develop professional and technical skills and knowledge, and an understanding of the importance of positive relationships within a school.
