Such a sweet story of friendship and loneliness that I really enjoyed reading.

They battle on through good and bad weather and eventually reach the South Pole where there is a sign 'Welcome to the South Pole'? So the boy decides that he and the penguin will row to the Fond Pole. I got a kick out of the author bio on the inside back cover, complete with the author as a little boy. Oliver was born in Belfast but now lives in New York City. This book offers a tale of friendship foudn loneliness. And thank goodness I didn't resist this one. I am holding off on giving it 5 stars because I reserve that for books that I have strong emotions about, but I still strongly recommend this book. Jasbinder Bilan!
Lost and Found is a simple tale about a boy and a penguin and their growing friendship. One day the penguin just turns up at the boys house and the boy presumes he is lost so takes him to the lost and found office. Once they reach the office he discovers no one is missing a penguin. The boy then goes on a journey to try and find out where the penguin has come from. But they ignored him. Some birds are like that.
Doing things on our own can be stressful and upsetting, which immediately indicates its appeal to children. This message is key to young readers, a message on companionship and that sometimes all someone needs is a bit of company or a friend to play with. He frantically tries to make his way back to the penguin and when they finally meet each other, they sail back to the little boys house, and many people try to do things Text-to-World: "Lost and Found" is a wonderful picture book to introduce to children at young ages about battling loneliness.
